THE FEBRUARY CLUB MEETING AND CLUB PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW will held on FEBRUARY 3 at DELAWARE CENTER FOR HORTICULTURE

The meeting, hosted by the Horticulture Committees, will feature a presentation,"INTRODUCTION TO UD'S BOTANIC GARDEN AND GROUND COVER TRIALS” by Lauren Kope, Director, University of Delaware Botanical Gardens With professional experience in both public and private gardens, Lauren enjoys connecting with many audiences over a shared love of plants. Prior to joining UDBG, Lauren worked as the Manager of Living Collections at Wyck Historic House and Gardens in Philadelphia and she is a graduate of the Longwood Gardens’ Professional Horticulture Program. The deadline to RSVP for the February meeting has passed.

PLEASE VOTE NOW FOR THE GCW 2025 FOUNDERS FUND

We are asking you to submit your vote NOW for the 2025 Founders Fund Finalists.  

The winter issue of the GCA Bulletin has a full descriptions and photographs of each project on pages 23-29. In addition to the Bulletin, you may also find their descriptions with photographs on the GCA's Civic Improvement Committee's landing page under the 2025 Founders Fund Finalists resource category. 

Please read the 500-word descriptions in either the Bulletin or online before you vote below. This is your only opportunity to vote. Your vote is important!   

The Founders Fund is the only GCA program that is chosen from votes cast by all GCA clubs.  The funds for this prestigious award continues to grow through gifts from clubs and individuals, and provides monetary awards to projects proposed by GCA Member Clubs.


FLORAL DESIGN WORKSHOP February 6 , 1 pm - 3pm

Unfortunately, the Parallel Design Workshop has been cancelled. The next Floral Design Workshop will be held on March 13. More information and a link to register will be posted on the Calendar page and on the member home page when registration opens.


DO YOU HAVE WONDERFUL PHOTOS TO SHARE WITH CLUB

Do you have photos of recent Club activities, tours, workshops, or celebrations you would like considered for posting on our Club website, the Club's Instagram page or the Zone V landing page.

Before submitting any photo be sure you have permission from those in the photo and from the photographer to share the image. If you have questions about how to submit your photos contact Carol Taylor. Thank you!

For more information about all the show schedules, guidelines and to download exhibitor entry cards, please go to the Flower Show Committee’s landing page. You may print and fill out an entry card by hand OR download the file, fill it out on your computer, and then print it.

THE 2025 PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

The 2025 Philadelphia Flower Show, the nation's largest and the world’s longest-running horticultural event, will be held indoors at the PA Convention Center from March 1-9, 2025. Go to the Philadelphia Flower Show Committee’s landing page for additional information about exhibiting or volunteering for this year’s show to be held at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

EXCITING GCA VIRTUAL CONFERENCES IN FEBRUARY

Go to the CALENDAR page to find information about the upcoming virtual GCA Photography Conference on February 6 and the GCA Floral Design Conference on February 11. Both conferences are free for all club members. Links to register are on the calendar event posting.


Please join others in GCA as they return to the nation’s capital for the 42nd Annual National Affairs & Legislation Conference. Hear from nationally renowned experts including scientists, business and non-profit leaders, and members of congress, who will give us the tools to confront threats to our natural world.

All GCA club members have an opportunity to be "in the room" in Washington, joining conference delegates for Education Day on Monday, March 24th, live streamed via Zoom. All club members may register for two no-cost, virtual opportunities: the virtual Advocacy Workshop and the live-streamed Education Day.

Registration for these events is now open to all GCA club members and will remain open until the day before each event.

GET TO OUR WEBSITE FASTER! HANDY TIP FOR iPHONE and iPAD USERS

You can easily make our Club’s Member Home Page a shortcut “app” on your iPhone or iPad to make it easy to regularly return to the page. If you prefer, just watch this video.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Safari. Other browsers, such as Chrome, won't work for this.

  2. Navigate to the Club’s Member Homepage. Make sure you go the Member Home page so that you will not need to login when you open this shortcut. Tap "Go."

  3. Tap the Share button on the bottom of the page. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing out of the top.

  4. In the list of options that appear, scroll down until you see Add to Home Screen. Tap this. The Add to Home Screen dialog box will appear.

  5. Choose a name for the website shortcut, such as “GCW Member Home”on your home screen. You'll see the link so you can confirm it. Click Add when you're done. Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPhone's or iPad's home screen.

  6. Now just tap your new club "app" on your home screen, and it will open our website in its own window. No more searching and no need to login!

Note: If you ever decide you want to remove this website shortcut, you can delete it just like you would any other app on your phone.
